Celebrating 35 Years of the ADA!

Gepubliceerd op:

This year, we’re celebrating a major milestone, the 35th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)!

Celebrate 35 years of ADA

Back in 1990, President George H.W. Bush signed the ADA into law, laying the foundation for a more inclusive and accessible world. The goal was simple but powerful: to protect the rights of people with disabilities and ensure equal access to work, education, public spaces, transportation, and more.

As the world around us has changed, especially with the rise of new technology, the ADA has kept pace. In 2008, updates were made through the ADA Amendments Act (ADAAA) to make sure the definition of disability stayed broad and meaningful, so that more people could be protected from discrimination.

At Optelec, we’re proud to support the ADA and everything it stands for. We’re committed to helping people with vision loss maintain independence, and the ADA has played a huge role in breaking down barriers.

Here’s to 35 years of progress—and the work that still lies ahead!
